HSE Performance Reports- Mental Health Services

The Business Information Unit -Community Health Care - collates the HSE’s Performance Reports, which provide an overall analysis of key performance data from Mental Health Services. The activity data reported is based on Performance Activity and Key Performance Indicators outlined in the National Service Plan and the HSE Operational Plans.

The Performance Report is overseen by the National Planning Oversight Group (NPOG), led by the Chief Operations Officer on behalf of the CEO. NPOG monitors performance against planned activity, as outlined in the National Service Plan, and highlights areas for improvement. A Management Data Report is also produced each month which provides more detailed data on the Metrics covered in the Performance Report.

Items such community adult mental health, psychiatry of later life, child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS). Examples of an indicator include:

 number of referrals (including re-referred) received by General Adult Community Mental Health Team  %. of new (including re-referred) Psychiatry of Later Life Community Mental Health Team cases offered appointment and DNA in the current month  % of urgent referrals to CAMHS teams responded to within three working days.

Purpose: To monitor and measure provision of services within the Mental Health Services and report on activity against the National Service Plan.

Coverage: National, CHO, LHO, Mental Health Team Level and Service Providers.

Data collection commenced 2009 and is ongoing.
